BTS’ Jungkook turns Weverse live into fan serenade
Not even a required Korean military service could stop BTS’ golden maknae from updating his fans and reassuring them that he would always be there.
During his military break, BTS’ Jungkook delivered an unexpected holiday surprise for global ARMYs as he turned a simple Weverse live session into a three-hour musical treat.
Currently fulfilling his mandatory military service alongside fellow BTS members RM, Jimin, Suga and V, Jungkook managed to connect with ARMYs worldwide, racking up 20.2 million real-time viewers during the session.
The spontaneous and unexpected live stream began with a midnight message in Korean, where Jungkook checked in on fans’ well-being and encouraged them to stay healthy.
“Knock knock. Has everyone been well? Are you healthy? Don’t get sick, and make sure you’re eating your meals,” he wrote.
His warmth resonated as he wrapped up the conversation with “I miss you.”

However, what began as a casual interaction quickly evolved into an intimate karaoke session, with Jungkook belting out tracks from Bruno Mars and Blackpink Rosé’s hit “APT” to “Winter Ahead.”

Notably, when fans requested BTS songs, he declined, saying, “I won’t perform BTS songs alone. I will perform them with the members.”
Beyond the music, Jungkook opened up about life in the military and candidly addressed controversies, including hateful comments directed at his pet.
He even gave fans a glimpse of his home but urged them to respect his privacy, requesting they refrain from visiting or sending gifts.
Adding to the excitement, Jungkook’s solo journey has also been making waves. His documentary, “Jung Kook: I Am Still the Original,” released on Disney+, delves deep into his career milestones and debut solo album, “Golden.”
The film garnered over 1.38 million viewers globally, becoming the highest-grossing music documentary of 2023.
Particularly popular in Japan, it drew 300,000 admissions, making it the country’s top Korean film this year.
