Fil-Am Alyssa Redondo grateful for Miss Intercontinental 2024 top 3 win

The 23-year-old Filipino American vocational nurse continues the country’s decade-long placement streak

Embodying her mantra of “simply beautiful,” Filipino American Mutya ng Pilipinas Alyssa Redondo recently clinched the title of Miss Intercontinental 2024 2nd Runner-Up.

Redondo’s mantra resonated with everyone, earning her not just a crown but also the Power of Beauty 2024 award, which automatically secured her spot in the competition’s Top 7.

She also took home the title of Best in Swimsuit.

In an Instagram post, the Fil-Am beauty queen from California expressed gratitude for the accolades and the experiences that came with them.

“I am your Miss Intercontinental 2024 2nd Runner Up as the Power of Beauty 2024! First ever Philippine representative to win the Power of Beauty, an award that directly goes to top 7,” she wrote. “Beyond the crowns, I’m leaving with priceless friendships from around the world. All the hard work has truly paid off and I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

Redondo’s achievement marks a significant milestone as the first Philippine representative to win the Power of Beauty award.

She also extended heartfelt thanks to the Miss Intercontinental staff, her pageant sisters and her supporters, crediting them for their unwavering encouragement and efforts throughout her journey.

“Earning the title of Miss Intercontinental 2024 2nd Runner-Up is an incredible achievement, especially as my first international competition! I truly hope I’ve represented my country well,” she added.

This victory continues the Philippines’  track record in the Miss Intercontinental pageant, currently with two titleholders – Karen Gallman in 2018 and Cindy Obeñita in 2021.

Redondo’s latest triumph adds to the decade-long streak of making the finals cut.

The pageant ended with Puerto Rico’s Maria Cepero taking home the crown. 

Marking its 56th anniversary, the Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant returns for its 52nd edition after a brief hiatus in 2023 due to undisclosed reasons, making a successful comeback on the global pageant stage.
