Celebrating its 20th anniversary, America’s Got Talent (AGT) is bringing back one of its most memorable young performers – Filipina American singer Jessica Sanchez.
After two decades, Sanchez is returning to the stage where it all began for her, marking a full-circle moment in her career.
Sanchez first appeared on the AGT stage in its inaugural season, where she became a wildcard act at just 10 years old. Though she didn’t make it to the grand finals, her time on the show played a pivotal role in shaping her career and inspiring her to pursue her dreams.

Reflecting on this experience in an Instagram post, Sanchez shared: “Being 10 years old on AGT played such a massive role in me believing in something bigger for myself, for my voice. What a huge blessing it is to be able to come back and chase after my dreams again after 20 years. Can’t wait to see what God has in store for me.”
Her post was met with an outpouring of love from her devoted fanbase, known as the “Bluejays.” Fans flooded the comments with nostalgic and supportive messages.
One wrote, “I still remember buying your album the day it came out. It was in front of the display at Walmart. I will always root for you!!!!”
Another fan expressed disbelief that Sanchez didn’t win back then, saying, “The fact you didn’t win back then is still criminal to me! I watched every single episode just to see your performances. The level of talent you have and had at that age is still mind-blowing to me.”
Sanchez’s journey didn’t stop with AGT. She later became the first runner-up on American Idol in 2012, finishing behind Phillip Phillips.
Since then, she has built a career, continually proving her immense vocal talent. Now, as AGT celebrates its milestone anniversary, Sanchez’s return to the stage is a celebration of both her growth and the impact of the show on her career.
