Mutya ng Pilipinas Alyssa Redondo’s mantra: ‘Simply Beautiful’
Global Filipina beauties are going big this year – from Miss Universe Philippines and Miss World Philippines to Mutya ng Pilipinas. Adding to the impressive lineup of the Philippines’ representatives on the international stage is Filipino American Alyssa Marie Redondo, who recently won the prestigious Mutya ng Pilipinas Intercontinental 2024 crown.
Representing the Filipino community in California, Redondo shared her deep connection to the pageant on Instagram, expressing her gratitude: “I’ve always been part of the Mutya family in California since I joined in 2019. Even though I didn’t win the major title back then, they’ve been nothing but caring, supportive, and treated me like family.”

In another post, she reflected on a memorable moment leading up to her victory and emphasizing a quote that became her driving force.
“The week before I decided to compete in Mutya Ng Pilipinas 2024, I received a fortune cookie that read, ‘Say it simply with passion.’ That became my inspiration,” she wrote. “My theme for the pageant was ‘Simply Beautiful,’ a reminder that beauty isn’t defined by what you wear but by how you carry yourself. True beauty comes from the heart and is reflected in how you treat others, even when no one is watching.”

Redondo also expressed her pride in representing her Filipino roots, emphasizing her commitment to embody the values of determination, compassion, and optimism — qualities she believes define not just a queen but every Filipino, as she mentioned during the question-and-answer portion.
During the competition, Redondo excelled, winning several awards including Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown, Miss Luxe Beauty Talk and Miss Jipang Trim.
The Mutya ng Pilipinas pageant, now in its 52nd edition, celebrates its 56th anniversary this year. After a brief hiatus in 2023 for undisclosed reasons, the event returned with a bang, crowning yet another exceptional Filipina beauty after Iona Gibbs won in 2022.
