Lamon, Tagalog word for gorging on food or eating voraciously, takes on a whole new meaning as the summit merges eco-friendly practices with the savory and rich flavors of Filipino cuisine.

The summit’s mission

What sets this event apart isn’t just good food, it’s their mission to honor Filipino food traditions while pushing for a more sustainable future.

“LAMON” is more than just a food and wine event – it’s a holistic celebration of our Filipino food system and a call to action for sustainability,” event founder Yana Gilbuena-Babu said in a press release.

“We’re excited to shine a spotlight on the often-overlooked heroes of our industry – the farmers, growers, producers, and vintners who form the backbone of our culinary heritage.”

In true Filipino fashion, “LAMON” encourages guests to BYOB — Bring Your Own Bag and Baon (packed meal) — to cut down on single-use plastics and reduce waste.

The summit will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Southeast Community Center in Bayview, San Francisco.
