Fil-Am rapper P-Lo drops two new summer albums
“Summer starts now,” Filipino American rapper P-Lo declares with two new album releases.
Perfectly encapsulating the essence of summer, the Fil-Am rapper and producer is doubling the fun as he announced the release of two highly anticipated collaborative albums via his Instagram.
The first album, “Moovie 2: The Zeequel,” is a 13-track powerhouse created with fellow HBK Gang member Kool John. This project promises a mix of beats and lyrics, continuing the signature vibe fans expect from the duo.
To celebrate, the “B.A.D” artist unveiled three shows for “Moovie 2: The Zeequel,” kicking off in Sacramento at Cesar Chavez Park on July 19.
The duo will also perform in San Francisco at The Independent on July 24 and Los Angeles at the Peppermint Club on Aug. 2, with meet and greet sessions available at all shows.
Meanwhile, the second album, “Majorly Independent,” is a seven-track collection created in collaboration with rising star LaRussell. This project showcases innovative sounds and lyrics, underscoring the creative synergy between P-Lo and LaRussell.
From the said album, “Give Me a Beat!” and “What Wen Doin’” went straight to the current popular tracks on P-Lo’s Spotify.
Further commemorating these releases, the Bay Area rapper posted, “WE MAKING A MOOVIE! IN A MAJORLY INDEPENDENT WAY! MOOVIE! 2 OUT NOW! MAJORLY INDEPENDENT OUT NOW!”

Last year, the Fil-Am rapper embarked on a US tour in support of his “Stunna” album, during which he also released a deluxe version of the album. He collaborated with Filipino artist Denise Julia for the hit single “B.A.D.”
Beyond music, P-Lo has been championing Filipino culture and heritage in the US. Last year, he also launched his “Very Good Food Tour,” blending music and Filipino cuisine in several US cities.
