BINI dethrones Taylor Swift on Spotify’s Daily Top Artists PH

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has had the Philippines enthralled for two full years, almost three, with the Grammy-award-winning artist staying at the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s Daily Top Artists Philippines chart.
On June 16, a P-pop girl group came from behind and snatched the throne from her.
Dubbed the “nation’s girl group,” BINI dethroned “The Tortured Poets Department” album singer after the “Pantropiko” viral queens climbed to the top spot on Sunday.
The eight-member group also became the first Filipino act in history to reach the No. 1 spot on this chart.
Taking to Instagram, Star Music, their music label congratulated the girls, writing, “NUMBER ONE NA ANG NAG-IISANG NATION’S GIRL GROUP!”
“Isang nakaka-feel good na Sunday as our @BINI_ph makes herstory by being the FIRST FILIPINO ACT to reach the #1 SPOT on the @SpotifyPH Daily Top Artists Chart,” they continued.
This is a significant accomplishment for both the group and their fans, known as “Blooms,” as BINI initially entered the chart at No. 190 in February and gradually climbed to the top through organic streams and popularity, reaching the pinnacle in June.
Recently, BINI graced the cover of a local Asian pop magazine and the leading P-pop destination in the country, Parcinq Magazine, with their photos taken by renowned photographer Shaira Luna.

In addition, the group was the first and only Filipino act to enter (and still charting) on the Daily Top Artists Global chart, debuting at the 193rd position. They are also the OPM artists with the most monthly listeners, with nine of their tracks among the daily most streamed songs in the country, including “Salamin, Salamin,” “Pantropiko,” and “Karera,” which are sitting comfortably in the top five.
This record-breaking moment comes shortly after BINI reached another significant milestone, garnering over 6 million monthly listeners (6.6 million as of writing) on Spotify, the highest monthly listenership for a P-pop group and the highest for OPM acts.
Meanwhile, the octet will be staging their much-anticipated “BINIverse” tour in Canada which will kick off in Vancouver on Aug. 9, followed by Edmonton on Aug. 10, Winnipeg on Aug. 16 and Toronto on Aug. 17. They will be dropping a brand new single, titled “Cherry on Top” soon.
