On April 1, 1998, the Filipino Community Centennial Committee of New England was established and incorporated in celebration of the Philippine Centennial of June 1998.
In June 2006, recognizing the need for an annual commemoration of Philippine Independence Day in the New England region, the committee changed its name to Philippine American Mainstream Advocacy for Nonpartisan Associations (PAMANA).
PAMANA aims to:
- Foster and strengthen cooperation among Fil-Am organizations in the New England region, promoting mutual understanding, humility and equality.
- Encourage active participation of Fil-Am organizations in the Philippine Independence Day commemoration.
- Coordinate timely and effective mobilization of all Fil-Am organizations to respond and assist victims of calamities in the Philippines, such as earthquakes, floods and typhoons.
