One way or another, it’s definitely hard to find or bump a message we sent weeks ago in chats. Whether it’s for referencing important information, following up on a conversation, or simply trying to recall details from past discussions, the process can be time-consuming and really frustrating.

Navigating through weeks-old chat histories on WhatsApp just got a whole lot easier because WhatsApp hears us loud and clear. 

In response to user feedback and the universal struggle of finding past messages, the messaging giant has introduced a solution: chat filters.

With the latest update, WhatsApp users now have the power to swiftly sift through their chats with ease. This update promises to conveniently handle the way users manage their conversations, offering a seamless experience that puts important messages right at their fingertips.

“We believe filters will make it easier for people to stay organized and find their most important conversations and help navigate through messages more efficiently,” the messaging app wrote. “We’ll continue to build more options to help you focus on what matters most. These are starting to roll out to users today, and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.”

So, what’s in store with these new chat filters? Here’s everything we got from their news release. 

There are three filters in the latest update. We can choose from “All,” “Unread” and “Groups.”

“All” is the go-to filter for a comprehensive view of all our messages. This filter keeps everything neatly organized in one place.

Meanwhile, the “Unread” bids goodbye to overlooking important messages. With the unread filter, we can quickly identify and prioritize conversations that require our attention. It’s the perfect solution for staying on top of your messages without the hassle.

According to the platform, the “Groups” feature is the highly requested one.

It’s a dedicated space for all our “never-ending” group chats. No more searching high and low for that one group conversation buried amid our individual chats. From family gatherings, school assignments or projects to work collaborations, easily locate and access our group discussions in a snap.
