Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is back in New York!
The former titleholder graced the New York premiere of Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine’s latest film offering, “The Idea of You,” donning a taupe gown by Filipino designer Rajo Laurel.
Expressing her excitement on social media, the beauty queen and TV personality shared her gratitude for the invitation, stating, “Thrilled to be invited to attend the NYC premiere of #TheIdeaOfYou.”

Gray also treated her followers to glimpses of the premiere night, including a snapshot with lead actor Galitzine on the last slide, with a caption that teased, “Snapz from last night’s #TheIdeaOfYou NYC premiere. Watch it May 2 on [Prime Video].”

Last week, in a recent interview preceding the premiere, Gray engaged in a thoughtful discussion with the Hollywood stars, praising the film’s sincerity in depicting love and connection and delving deeper into the film’s message.
She particularly highlighted author Robinne Lee’s intention to shed light on the feelings of invisibility experienced by some women, resonating with the film’s underlying message.
“Robinne Lee – whose book was the inspiration for the film, she wanted to express the restlessness that some women may feel when they become a certain age and ‘cease to be seen,’” she stated.
Before the premiere night, Gray also took a serene stroll through Central Park, where she stumbled upon the beauty of cherry blossoms in bloom.
“Sakura magic that we stumbled upon happenstance whilst [wandering] Central Park,” she shared, encapsulating the spontaneous joy of her encounter with nature amid the bustling city.

Sharing snippets of her experience on Instagram, she flaunted her chic OOTD – a blue turtleneck knitted top paired with a metallic silver skirt – complemented by a simple braided updo hairstyle.
The movie “The Idea of You,” first showcased at the South by Southwest Festival on March 16, explores the themes of love and personal growth. Hathaway takes on the role of a single mother navigating a fervent romance with a young musician played by Galitzine.
Scheduled for release on May 2, the film will make its digital premiere on Prime Video, thanks to Amazon MGM Studios.
