Clad in an olive green dress that perfectly complemented the song’s earthy tones, the American Idol winner stood poised and confident. She went on a sonic journey through the lyrics of the “Drivers License” singer-songwriter, which she confessed was a “challenge,” with each word laden with raw emotion.

Supported by her instrumentalists, known as “My Band Y’all,” the “Because of You” hitmaker’s rendition effortlessly soared and reverberated through the halls.

Clarkson belted each line with conviction, declaring the lyrics, “Through wading grass, the months will pass. You’ll feel it all around. I’m here, I’m there, I’m everywhere. But you can’t catch me now.”

Rodrigo’s “Can’t Catch Me Now” served as the opening track for the highly anticipated prequel to the “Hunger Games” trilogy, “The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes,” providing Clarkson with the perfect piece to weave her own brand of musical magic into the song.

And weave it she did, leaving an impression on everyone listening as she painted a vivid picture of resilience and defiance with every lyric.
