Viral ‘Karen’ speaks out on ‘Dr. Phil’ about encounter with Fil-Am
For the past four years, Lisa Alexander – dubbed the San Francisco (SF) “Karen” – has endured cancel culture, stemming from the 2020 viral incident involving a Filipino American man.
Alexander has recently shared her side of the story on “Dr. Phil Primetime,” providing a tableau of public shaming along with her quest for redemption.
Alexander went viral in 2020 after berating Fil-Am James Juanillo for stenciling “Black Lives Matter” in chalk on his own property.
Captured on video, which had garnered 13 million views, Alexander and her friend, Robert Larkins, confronted Juanillo and called the police on him.
The incident, which sparked accusations of racism, quickly escalated into online infamy.

Alexander was labeled a “Karen” – a name connoting entitlement and depicting middle-class white women who use their race and class privilege to demand their own way.
Alexander tried to make amends with Juanillo through a letter and a public apology.

Speaking on ‘Dr. Phil’ show
After four years, on April 19, she spoke about her side of the story on “Dr. Phil Primetime” – a new show on a Christian TV channel with reruns on YouTube.
“I wanted my life back,” Alexander told the show’s host Phil McGraw.
“I’ve been waiting for a turnaround, I’ve been waiting for the truth to come out.”
She recounted the scene, claiming that she didn’t fully grasp the situation before approaching Juanillo.
Alexander said she felt misunderstood. “My identity, my integrity, my personality, and my career was completely stolen from me because someone else decided who I was and what I was saying,” she lamented during the interview.
Meanwhile, Juanillo – who also faced threats following the incident – set the record straight, highlighting the discrepancies in Alexander’s side of the story.
“What you saw on video, it was true. That’s really her revealing herself to the world for two minutes,” Juanillo posted on social media.
“Can you imagine if the Central Park Karen also resurfaced after almost 4 years and claimed that she did nothing wrong? That’s what’s happening with my SF Karen aka Sidewalk Karen aka Chalk Karen aka Lisa Alexander, CEO on Dr Phil Primetime!” he wrote on X.

“I’m starting a Boycott of Dr. Phil Primetime. And his Merit+ App.”
Juanillo, who was originally slated to appear on the show, declined the invitation, implying there was a breach of trust over how the original incident was presented.
