In recent years, K-pop has seen a surge in collaborations with internationally renowned artists. From Blackpink teaming up with Dua Lipa for “Kiss and Make Up” to BTS joining forces with Coldplay for “My Universe” and Enhypen collaborating with Filipino American social media personality Bella Poarch on “Sweet Venom,” among many others, the trend continues to capture fans worldwide.

Adding to the lineup, Stray Kids, the boy group under JYP Entertainment, has announced their upcoming collaboration with American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth for a new digital single titled “Lose My Breath.”

Set for release on May 10, “Lose My Breath” marks the first collaboration between Stray Kids’ members Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and I.N, and the acclaimed global pop icon known for hits like “One Call Away,” “Marvin Gaye” and “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”

While specific details regarding the single’s genre and distribution platforms remain shrouded in mystery, the promise of a groundbreaking musical fusion has ignited fervent speculation among fans and the wider music community alike. Notably, the single CD preview is now available for pre-order and pre-save, albeit limited to the US market.

Expressing excitement for the collaboration, the “Why?’ performers’ management told The Korea Herald, “We expect the collaboration between these world-renowned artists to reach new heights and satisfy their fandom.”

This collaboration follows Stray Kids’ successful venture with rapper Lil Durk on the remix of “All My Life” in 2023. The group also stands as one of three K-pop acts, alongside BTS and Super M, to top the Billboard 200 chart across all genres back in March 2022 with their EP, “Oddinary.”

In addition to the eagerly awaited release of “Lose My Breath,” the eight-member powerhouse group has teased a multitude of projects for the year ahead, including a third world tour, a fourth fan meeting, as well as plans for both a full-length album and a special album release.
