At the beginning of the year, Filipino American dancer and singer Brian Puspos took to Instagram to share that the road to his album had officially begun.

“We started this vision in 2018, and now the world will see what we’ve been patiently working hard on,” he continued. “My musical journey as an artist has seen ups and downs, but I’ve never felt more confident than now.”

He revealed that “Cozy” was the final piece completed for the album and quickly became a personal favorite: “Dedicated to my wife [Aja Dang], as the very first lyric is “I put a diamond on that finger..” and of course, the title of the song being also one of her favorite Beyoncé songs lol.”

Puspos also gave a shoutout to the “musical genius,” Filipino Canadian August Rigo, renowned for his collaborations with BTS, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber and Seventeen, among others.

“I told [August Rigo] we need one for the wifey and of course a hit was made,” Puspos added in a separate post.

Contrasting the breakup theme of his first single “Do You,” “Cozy” serves as a heartfelt ode from the Fil-Am dancer to his wife, conveying through its lyrics that she will always hold the top spot in his heart, promising to keep her comfortable and reassuring her that “these other girls don’t know me the way that you do.”

The performance video, choreographed by Puspos himself alongside fellow dancers Devin Pornel and Nick Joseph, and the lyric video are now available for streaming. The full debut album is slated for release in May.
