Ben Affleck, Matt Damon among Golden Globe Awards presenters
BEVERLY HILLS – A complete lineup of presenters for Sunday’s 81st annual Golden Globe Awards has been announced, including Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Dua Lipa and Jodie Foster.
Rounding out the list of newly announced presenters are Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Banks, Andra Day, Annette Bening, Gabriel `Fluffy’ Iglesias, Hunter Schafer, Jared Leto, Jon Batiste, Jonathan Bailey, Kate Beckinsale, Keri Russell, Kristen Wiig, Mark Hamill, Matt Damon, Naomi Watts, Orlando Bloom, Ray Romano, Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar.
They join previously announced presenters Oprah Winfrey, Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Shameik Moore, Simu Liu, Amanda Seyfried, Angela Bassett, Gabriel Macht, George Lopez, Julia Garner, Justin Hartley, Michelle Yeoh and Patrick J. Adams.
Now under new management following a June sale to Dick Clark Productions and the dissolution of the scandal-scarred Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Golden Globes marks the official opening of the 2024 Hollywood awards season.
Organizers of the newly reformed Golden Globes hope that a “Barbenheimer” love-in can help to revitalize Hollywood’s famously fun-loving but scandal-dogged awards gala.
The show is expected to celebrate “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer”— two movies that wowed critics and audiences alike when they were released simultaneously last summer, and have a whopping 17 nominations between them.
“They are so different than each other, yet they were both successful… We’re thrilled that they’re both very represented here,” said this year’s Globes producer Glenn Weiss.
Filipino American actor and comedian Jo Koy, who will be the host, joined Golden Globes producers on Thursday in the ceremonial red carpet rollout at the Beverly Hilton ahead of the awards show on Sunday.
The 81st Golden Globe Awards will air live on Sunday, Jan. 7 on CBS, streamed on Paramount+ and will be available on the CBS app, starting at 5 p.m. PT (8-11 p.m. ET). (With CNS report)
