Every foodie adventure is not just a tummy jam-packed with gastronomic delights, but it’s also the adventure and the story within each cuisine that makes all the food experience more interesting and this is where California ticks all the boxes as the best state for foodies in the US.

A study by Hubscore featuring a comprehensive analysis of all 50 US states revealed the best and worst choices for foodies in America. Using three metrics namely cuisine diversity, cuisine affordability and cuisine experience, California clinches the top spot for food lovers.

Unveiling the best state for foodies

California, No.1 in the US food scene showed a score of 59.8. From the various flavors of ethnic delights to fam-to-table goodness, the Golden State’s culinary scene is a blend of flavors gaining the state the top rank position.

A testament to its cuisine diversity is the sprawling number of Filipino restaurants in Los Angeles alone.

Texas takes the third place gaining a score of 53.3. Tex-Mex feasts and iconic BBQs promise a fusion of flavors that every foodie would love.

Illinois comes in at fourth place with a score of 52.4. As a culinary hub, the state offers a feast of options ready to take a foodie’s game to the next level – including the Michelin-starred Filipino restaurant Kasama in Chicago.

“Each of these was defined via individual metrics that were representative of the category. There were a total of 21 metrics, and each metric was graded on a 100-point scale,” stated Hubscore.
