2 Filipino restaurants secure spots on LA Times 101 Best Restaurants list
Filipino restaurants in the United States have been receiving accolades for their rich culinary flavors and contemporary twists, even earning spots on world-renowned culinary lists.
Adding to this roster and in celebration of gastronomic innovation and culinary mastery, two Filipino eateries Kuya Lord and Lasita secured spots on the Los Angeles Times’ 101 Best Restaurants in LA.
Released last week, the annual compilation, on its 10th year, recognizes outstanding establishments that have made an indelible mark on the city’s diverse and dynamic culinary landscape.
In an Instagram post, Kuya Lord expressed their gratitude for being included in the list.

“We are humbled and honored to be celebrated this year among the finest,” the caption reads. “Thankful to all those who supported us since day 1 and who continuously support and love us all the way. Thanks to our small but mighty KL Team for making this happen.”
What made Filipino restaurant Kuya Lord proudly Filipino is that their dishes are inspired by Southern Tagalog cooking using only the freshest seasonal ingredients.
Their specialty? “Lucenachon”—their version of Filipino-style pork belly stuffed with lemongrass and fennel fronds or blue prawns simmered in garlicky crab paste.

Recently, it was also included in the 25 best restaurants in Los Angeles by the New York Times.
