Two OPM hits land in 2023 most searched songs on Google globally

Check your Spotify Wrapped for this year. There are probably a couple of OPM songs that you’ve been playing all year long—whether they’re the soulful melodies of Ben&Ben, the heartfelt tunes of Zack Tabudlo, the emotive ballads by Moira dela Torre, or the raw energy from Juan Karlos and Pasilyo.
After all, the beauty of OPM lies in its ability to resonate across diverse tastes and emotions, continuing to be the soundtrack of most Filipinos’ lives.
Proving this, two Filipino tunes have secured spots on Google’s list of the most searched songs globally for 2023—and you’ve likely been hearing these tracks almost every day and almost everywhere!
Juan Karlos’ “Ere” claimed the sixth spot on the trends list, while SunKissed Lola’s love anthem “Pasilyo,” entered the list at the ninth spot.
On top of this recognition, “Ere” not only secured a top position on Google’s search trends but also marked its place as the first Filipino song to debut on the Spotify Global chart in October, reaching an even broader global audience.

The emotional depth of JK’s trending track recently took the spotlight when he confirmed that the song draws inspiration from his personal experience of parting ways with beauty queen and Asia’s Next Top Model winner Maureen Wroblewitz.
Meanwhile, “Sunkissed Lola” has been on a steady rise, with their recently released single “Dal’wang Patinig” accumulating over a million streams already.
