Juan Karlos’ ‘Ere’ makes history as first Filipino song to debut on Spotify global chart
The musical prowess of Filipinos shines through once again as another homegrown artist breaks into the global charts.
Filipino singer-songwriter and “The Voice Kids Season 1” finalist Juan Karlos Labajo has achieved a remarkable milestone as his single “Ere,” featured in his latest album “Sad Songs and Bulls**t Part 1,” etched its name in history by becoming the first Filipino song to debut on the global chart of music streaming platform Spotify.
The achievement was unveiled by Chart Data, a music-dedicated account that tracks and reports on the performance of songs across various streaming platforms.

According to Chart Data’s statistics, “Ere” soared onto the global Spotify chart, debuting at No. 177. This feat was propelled by a whopping 1.22 million streams, slowly establishing its presence in the international music scene.
“Ere’s” chart-topping journey continued to surge as it climbed to No. 87 on the chart, garnering an additional 230,000 streams.
Another important point to note is that, in addition to this breakthrough, the “Senior High” actor’s single has even surpassed Taylor Swift’s “Mine (Taylor’s Version)” on Spotify Philippines, setting an all-time single-day streaming record of 1.392 million streams.

The “Buwan” hitmaker reposted some stories on his Instagram regarding the song’s latest achievements, including the post of Raket.ph, an “independent talent marketplace” co-founded by him.

“Ere” hit Spotify on Aug. 4, almost 50 days ahead of the full release of “Sad Songs and Bulls**t Part 1” on the same platform. The official live performance has also been released.
