It’s no secret that Filipino restaurants sharing their culinary masterpieces are sprawled across the US but Taste of Philippines is the first ever on this side of town in Rochester, Minnesota.

Nestled in downtown Rochester at Skyway Food Court on 1 Avenue Southwest, Taste of Philippines has started spreading some Pinoy goodness since November 1.

The culinary master behind Taste of Philippines

Meet the mastermind behind this gastronomic spot — Irene Mills. After eight years of being a Rochester resident, she noticed what’s lacking in the area’s culinary tapestry, a local Filipino food haven.

Mills turned the table and decided it was about time to change and fill in the missing piece of the puzzle — a Filipino feast for the community.

”It brought me happiness because they really enjoyed the food, you know, because we’re the only Filipino restaurant here in Rochester,” said Mills in an interview with KTTC.

Mills also noted that Taste of Philippines is not just about the food but the whole experience, culture, vibes and her goal to delight customers.

And of course, a Filipino table won’t be complete without the favorites — pork adobo and lumpia. This Filipino restaurant offers them all and more.

If you’re from Rochester or just happen to visit a relative around the area, they are open Monday to Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
