Seattle, get ready as Jollibee is coming your way
A chicken sensation that has swept people around the world off their feet is finally bringing the crispylicious craze to Seattle.
Jollibee will soon call the strip mall Rainier Valley Square its new home, taking over MOD Pizza’s former space.
While it’s projected to open sometime in late 2024, renovations are currently in the works. In the meantime, you can DIY that famous Chickenjoy courtesy of chef Leah Cohen’s recipe.
Jollibee has been spreading good food since 1975—that’s 48 years to be exact. With its domination in more than 1,500 places in 17 countries, we’re not surprised it also has new branches in Brooklyn and Michigan.

While the fast food giant had already graced Southcenter Mall in Tukwila since 2010, Tacoma will soon be hit with crispylicious goodness, too.

Jollibee’s Chickenjoy crown
Fried chicken wars in the US are fierce but last year, Jollibee was crowned by Eater as the best fried chicken from a fast food chain.

As Lesley Suter puts it, “The subtly seasoned skin is as tectonically crunchy as advertised, if loosely attached in such a way as to be able to slide off an entire hunk with one bite.”
“But the real surprise here was the chicken itself: satisfyingly light, flavorful in a “tastes like chicken” sort of way, and supremely moist,” she wrote.
Tip: Chickenjoy lovers often line up days before any new branch opening, so you might want to mark your calendars when the date is officially set for Jollibee Seattle’s opening.
