Michigan foodies, brace yourselves: Jollibee is on the way

Living in Michigan and craving that crispylicious Chickenjoy that will make you say “langhap sarap”? Not a dream anymore as yet another Jollibee branch is hitting the Great Lakes State this October.
Jollibee, which also recently opened its doors in Brooklyn, NY, is set to debut in Michigan in time for Filipino American History Month. Filipino Americans are the second-largest ethnic group in the nation. Back in 2009, the US Congress recognized October as Filipino American History Month in the US.

The Jollibee Michigan journey begins
Two years in the making, the plans for this exciting food venture were first unveiled by senior economic development adviser for Sterling Heights Luke Bonner at a city council meeting in August 2021. Their goal? To transform the iconic Denny’s at 44945 Woodridge Dr. into a 2,500-square-foot Jollibee spot.

“This will have fans coming from all over the place to eat here,” Bonner mentioned during the meeting. “I’m guessing that the line will be significantly long when that finally opens.”

What to expect at Jollibee Michigan? Aside from the classics (burgers, fried chicken, peach mango pies), the Michigan branch will also offer an outdoor patio for al fresco dining, a drive-thru, and delivery services for Sterling Heights residents and Fil-Ams craving a taste of home.

Plus, if you want to be part of this exciting journey, Jollibee is currently looking for a restaurant supervisor who will man the Sterling Heights store and help in “spreading the joy” of the brand’s signature items.
The iconic Filipino fast food chain first launched in the Philippines in 1978. They currently have 1,500 stores globally with 72 located in the US.
