SAN FRANCISCO –The highly anticipated second season of downtown San Francisco’s only night market, will launch every third Saturday of the month (July – October), from 4 to 10 p.m.

The family-friendly night market located in SOMA Pilipinas, San Francisco’s Filipino cultural heritage district, has moved from its original location at the San Francisco Mint, to across the street, behind the San Francisco Chronicle parking lot (401 Minna St).

The free monthly night market highlights the diverse spectrum of food popups, artists, performers, local businesses, and community organizations in the Bay Area, especially among Filipino-American entrepreneurs and talent from SOMA Pilipinas. Undiscovered SF is a project of Kultivate Labs, a non-profit business accelerator that advances socially conscious commerce.

“We are creating an experience around what the Filipino American community in the Bay Area feels like, looks like, sounds like, and tastes like. Last year, we were limited by capacity in the SF Mint, so this year we’re excited to move fully outdoors into open public space for everyone to enjoy. There aren’t a ton of family-friendly nighttime events, and that’s one of my favorite parts of Undiscovered SF — seeing all ages come together to shop local, support up-and-coming Filipino entrepreneurs, and enjoy music and dance,” shares event producer and Undiscovered SF co-founder Gina Mariko Rosales.

Kicking off the festival on July 21 are the legendary DJs Qbert and Shortkut of the Invisbl Skratch Piklz, playing a rare collaborative set together on 4 turntables; alongside new school tastemaker Kronika of Soulection.

“Filipino American DJs Qbert and Shortkut are considered the pioneers of Turntablism and rank up there with Hip-Hop’s elite. They also happen to be from the Bay Area, and we’re thrilled to showcase two local legends who paved the way for an entire generation of DJs, including myself,” said music curator and DJ Marky Enriquez.

With last year’s attendance hitting 35,000 for the season, the night market’s new location will accommodate thousands more. Attendees can expect the best in Bay Area nightlife with access to plenty of Filipino food pop-ups, over 50 retail and fashion vendors, experiential art, and a wide array of live performances by popular artists.

Retailers include Asmbly Hall, Bayani Art, Little Honey Veeand Novus Vetus, to name a few. Crowd favorite food vendors will include Jeepney Guy, Mestiza, Lumpia Companyand Frozen Kustard. For a full list of performers and vendors visit
