Kathryn Bernardo and Dolly De Leon’s movie is now “mothering” the Hollywood scene.

Another film from the Philippines is poised to make waves on the global cinema stage. ABS-CBN Films stepped into the spotlight with pride as they presented the US premiere of their latest film offering, “A Very Good Girl.”


The highly-anticipated premiere had some notable attendees including “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Manila Luzon, Filipino-American influencer Bretman Rock, as well as other Filipino-American celebrities from the realms of film, television, and theater, all showing their support for the event.


Also gracing the red carpet are ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO of Broadcast Cory Vidanes, Head of ABS-CBN Films Kriz Gazmen, and Head of TV Production Lauren Dyogi.

In a post on X by TFC News, Katigbak shares the Kapamilya dream of taking Filipino films to the global stage.

“It’s always been our dream to produce content for international audience. For many, many years, ABS-CBN has been known to create great content for the Filipino audience, Filipino market,” he said.


“But we are leveling up our talent, we are leveling up our skills. Hopefully this movie does well and proves to the rest of the world that the Filipino talent is as good as the best,” Katigbak added.

A glimpse on the film’s plot

Starring two of the Philippines’ acclaimed actresses, the film promises to captivate international audiences with a story that revolves around two self-made women. Philomena Angeles (Bernardo) plans revenge against businesswoman Mother Molly (De Leon) with the goal of destroying Molly’s empire.

Fans in the US can now watch the film on Oct. 6. The film will also have screenings in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Guam, Saipan. “A Very Good Girl” will also premiere across the Middle East, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Nigeria.
