Fil-Am café-art gallery opens in small-town New York
In a small town in Hudson Valley, New York, residents as well as day-trippers can now enjoy Filipino-inspired pastries and art works at the recently opened Likha Art Cafe.
Available are such tasty treats as mini ube flan cakes, pan de coco, ube pandesal with cheese, and mini sans rival dessert cakes.
Hawthorne, a hamlet (pop. 4,586) in the town of Mount Pleasant in Westchester County, New York, welcomed the grand opening of the eatery-art gallery at 363 Elwood Avenue in Hawthorne on Sunday, Aug. 20.

“At Likha, we believe in the power of art to inspire, connect, and transform lives. Our unique establishment combines the love of art and the joy of savoring delicious coffee, bread, pastries and more,” reads a statement by the café’s principals Emma and Eddie Manongsong.
