Elderly Filipino with dementia still missing in Bellingham, Washington
It has been more than a month since Edgar B. Aberilla, 72, went missing in Bellingham, Washington and only one of the shoes he was carrying has been found.
Aberilla disappeared on July 4 after being dropped off at the Lowe’s on Sunset Drive by her daughter’s neighbor Burlington, Washington City Councilmember James Stavig.
A shoe carried by Aberilla was found Sunday, July 23 by members of a search party near the Lowe’s parking lot in Bellingham.
The shoe was not of the pair Aberilla was wearing. When he left his daughter’s house, he was carrying a small plastic bag containing shoes, a crossbody bag and an Xbox game.
Family members and volunteers are still searching for the elderly Filipino, who has dementia. He came from the Philippines with his wife to visit their daughter Abigail Tullius in Burlington.
The Burlington Police Department has no leads as to his whereabouts. Abigail Tullius expressed gratitude to law enforcers and Bellingham volunteers for continuing to help find her father.
Aberilla is 5’1, 140 pounds with short black hair. He wears glasses and was last seen with a blue T-shirt, khaki shorts, brown shoes, and was carrying a brown bag.
Anyone who may have seen Aberilla is asked to call 911.
