Book on WWII special unit of Filipinos in US Army to be launched

From the Filipino Regiments in the US Army, the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion and 978th Signal Service Company went on top-secret mission behind the Japanese lines.
Dauntless, by Marie Silva Vallejo, a book about a special unit of the Filipinos in the US Army in World War II, which went on top-secret missions behind enemy lines two years before Liberation, will be launched Aug. 17 at 6 p.m. at Sentro Filipino: The San Francisco Filipino Cultural Center, 814 Mission St. Mezzanine Level, San Francisco, +1 650-270-0089
From the Filipino Regiments in the US Army, the “1st Reconnaissance Battalion and 978th Signal Service Company were the first and only Army units to undertake such a specialized mission during the course of the Second World War,” noted the US Army Intelligence and Security Command, May 1985
