A Las Vegas man arrested for attacking his 75-year-old Filipino neighbor was ruled competent to face charges on Friday, July 21 after he underwent psychiatric evaluation.

District Judge Christy Craig said Christian Lentz is “capable of understanding the nature of the charges against him and able to aid and assist council in his defense.”

Lentz is accused of attacking his neighbor, Amadeo Quindara, 75, in the latter’s garage.

Lentz on May 20 allegedly ordered Quindara and his wife to speak English while the couple was having a conversation in Tagalog with their fellow Filipino neighbors.

The next day, Lentz allegedly returned and punched Quindara in the face several times and slammed him to the ground. Quindara sustained facial and head injuries. Police arrested Lenz the following day.
