Filipino, 72, missing in Bellingham, Washington
Police are still searching for a missing Filipino man who has dementia and was last seen in Bellingham, Washington.
Edgar Aberilla and his wife traveled from their home in the Philippines to visit their daughter, Abby Tullius, in Burlington, Washington.
Burlington Police say that the 72-year-old Aberilla was last seen near Lowe’s on Sunset Drive on July 4 after a neighbor dropped him off.
Tullius said she and her parents attended a Fourth of July parade in Anacortes and then returned home. Without his family’s knowledge, Aberilla left his daughter’s home and asked a neighbor to drop him off at Bellingham Lowe’s at about 4 p.m.
Aberilla primarily speaks Filipino but knows a little English. Investigators say he is unfamiliar with the Bellingham area and are concerned he may have gotten another ride.
He was last seen wearing a dark blue Fourth of July shirt, brown shorts, and carried a black cross-body bag.
A spokesperson for Burlington Police said that a few sightings of Aberilla have been reported, but no leads have been established.
Anyone who may have seen Aberilla is asked to call 911.
