Illinois professor is finalist for business education award
DECATUR, Illinois — Millikin University business professor Dr. Mark Munoz is a finalist for the 2023 Male Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year (Education Champion) Award
The Male Entrepreneurial Leader of the Year (Education Champion) recognizes an individual who has shown outstanding leadership in developing an institution’s entrepreneurial profile.
The Triple E Awards is hosted by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial & Engaged Universities (ACEEU). Triple E stands for Entrepreneurship and Engagement Excellence A in Higher Education.
Candidates are evaluated on their entrepreneurial competencies and leadership, impact and support of minorities and young leaders.
A prolific author, Munoz has published more than 25 books, notably including his three book projects supporting minority entrepreneurship – “Hispanic Latino Entrepreneurship,” “African American Entrepreneurs” and “Native American Entrepreneurs” .
“I am most proud of those three book projects. They were challenging to do and there were limited references on these topics. It required hundreds of interviews nationwide and countless hours of research and writing,” Muñoz said. “Yet, the journey was quite fulfilling. I learned and became inspired by the courage, passion, savvy and grit demonstrated by minority entrepreneurs.
