Nicki Minaj Launches Her Own Record Label
Nicki Minaj recently announced in the latest episode of her Queen Radio show on March 3: “I have a record label now.”
The pop star didn’t share the new company’s name but mentioned some artists. The artists include Nana Fofie, Tate Kobang, London Hill, and Rico Danna.
Nicki told fans what they should expect from the label and the artists. “When I get behind an artist, y’all know how I do s*** for people that are not even signed to me,” she said.

“Imagine what I’mma do for the ones that are signed.” The singer said that the label would focus on a range of different genres to just let people enjoy good music and help artists grow.
“Don’t think my label is just rap, Black, or anything,” Nicki said. “We got some other genres of music.”
Even though some are certain that the genre wouldn’t be so far from rap, we can only guess what she has prepared for the fans.
How is Republic Records Involved?
Nicki further mentioned that she had been conversing with Republic Records co-president Wendy Goldstein during the show and was proud to make the announcement.
From their conversations, “I said, ‘Wendy, we got to do this big. I’m a female; you a female, mamma. You got to do this right. We have to do it right. I don’t want no little itty-bitty ting ting. I want to do it right.”

She believes it would be suitable for the record label and the artists if the company starts without any hitches or backlog of unsettled issues since things like that may slow it down or bring bad publicity, which is terrible for any business.
Though fans only have little details about the structure and those involved, a few things are still uncertain. Nicki Minaj has already mentioned some artists.
In addition, further information reveals that the new label would be a subsidiary of Republic Records.
The rapper explained that she had considered breaking the news with Wendy Goldstein and her long-time collaborator and friend, Patty Lauren. The latter will be the label’s A&R.
In addition, the award-winning rapper released a new single, ‘Red Ruby Da Sleeve’ last week, with fans gushing over it.
It was an ideal move to usher in such news to give an insight into what to expect from her artists and end the wait for a single. She teased the long-awaited follow-up to her excellent “Queen” album in 2018.
All plans are in motion as we wait patiently for an official announcement that will offer the name and other details as regards the record label. We look forward to hearing about her upcoming music projects.
