Blink-182 Reunion Tour Postponed Due to Travis Barker’s Injury

/ 09:33 AM March 02, 2023

The rock band Blink-182 had to postpone its world tour after drummer Travis Baker injured his ring finger twice during rehearsals.

Frontman Tom DeLonge expressed the band’s excitement and commitment to perform with all the members together.

Sadly, “Travis needs to go in and have surgery on his finger, and we have to get that well. We have to get that strong before we can do anything else.”

Blink-182 is an American rock band that was popular in the 90s for songs like “Always,” “The Rock Show,” and “I Miss You.”

However, the last time it had the original members together for a world tour was in 2014.

The band wanted to change that on March 11, 2023, by having another world tour with Travis Barker, Tom DeLonge, and Mark Hoppus.

The series of concerts would have started in Tijuana, Mexico, and then went to other South American cities like Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Bogotà, and Lima.

Unfortunately, Blink-182 had to postpone the event due to Travis Barker’s injury. On February 8, he informed fans he severely hurt his finger:

“I was playing the drums at rehearsals yesterday, and I smashed my finger so hard I dislocated it and tore the ligaments.”

Later, the drummer damaged his ring finger again and shared an Instagram Story about his swollen and bruised knuckle on February 20.

By the 27th, Travis Barker told fans he would need to undergo surgery. On March 1, 2023, the drummer had the operation.

He uploaded a photo of himself wearing a hospital gown and an IV drip on social media. Also, Blink-182 vocalist Tom DeLonge explained the situation to fans via Instagram.

He said, “I wanted to say I’m so sorry to everyone down in South America that we couldn’t be there.”

“This has been something we have been aiming to do for so long, and we worked so hard, and we just had one of those freak accidents that nobody saw coming.”

“For a band, this is the pinnacle of our career was coming down and playing for you guys, so I really want you to know that we are devastated, and we are planning to come back.”
