Will Smith’s Latest Video Seems to Hint at Oscar Slap
Will Smith seems to be poking fun at his 2022 “Oscar Slap” in his latest TikTok video. It involves the actor listening intently to user @missmoneyworking in a duo clip.
She explains that inanimate objects could share their opinions about you through your intuition.
In the last five seconds of the clip, Smith pulls out his Oscars trophy, seemingly referring to his recent Oscar debacle.
What happened in the latest Will Smith video?
The video came out on Monday and gathered over 1.5 million views at the time of writing. It showsthe Hollywood actor side by side with Sam Rossi, a.k.a. @missmoneyworking.
The duo starts with Rossi saying, “It sounds insane, but it will change your life, and by ‘change your life,’ I mean it will make your life so much more interesting and fun.”
“Did you know that you can pick up any object, look at it, and ask it what it thinks of you? So, for example, you can pick up a pen and ask it how it sees you or what it thinks of you.”
“You will get an answer in your mind from your intuition. You can ask your car what it thinks of you”
In response, Will Smith seems to be thinking of something. Then, he picks up the Oscar trophy he earned for best actor off camera and gives it a concerning look.
TikTok viewers saw it as a lighthearted jab at the recent Chris Rock controversy. Last year, the latter joked about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith’s alopecia.
It is a disease that causes hair loss. In response, Will Smith yelled, “Keeps my wife’s name off your [expletive] mouth!”
Then, he went up on stage and slapped the comedian’s face. In July 2022, Smith released a YouTube video titled “It’s Been A Minute,” addressing questions regarding the slap.
He explained why he did not apologize to Rock during the acceptance speech. Smith said, “I was fogged out by that point. It’s all fuzzy.”
“I’ve reached out to Chris, and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk, and when he is, he will reach out. So I will say to you, Chris, I apologize to you.”
