Tennessee Animal Shelter Hopes Paul Rudd Will Adopt Dog Doppelgänger — Nicknamed Pawl Ruff

An animal shelter in Collierville, Tennessee, is calling on Hollywood actor Paul Rudd to adopt a dog resembling him.

The Collierville Animal Shelter tweeted its request to @AntMan on February 15, 2023, because the 53-year-old actor does not have a Twitter handle.

Also, the establishment gave the 2-year-old pooch a cute listing on petfinder.com. More importantly, the shelter gave it a cute name, Pawl Ruff!

The Collierville Animal Shelter shared endearing details about the Hollywood star’s canine counterpart.

The first thing you’d notice about its Petfinder page is its original name, Waffle House. The listing explains that a follower created a photo mash-up comparing its expressions to Paul Rudd’s.

That inspired the animal shelter to give the dog the “Pawl Ruff” nickname. Also, the establishment included those photos in its Twitter petition to the Ant-Man star. 

The Petfinder page compares the dog to Paul Rudd by stating: 

“Like Mr. Rudd, I’m a gentle, easy-going fella, the kind of guy you want to be your neighbor, best friend, or life-long companion. Maybe I really am the canine version of Paul!.”

“They tell me I’m a gem, and any family would be lucky to have me,” it added. 

Collierville Animal Shelter manager Brandon Wallace shared more details about Pawl Ruff on the classified ads website commercialappeal.com.

He said Pawl Ruff first stepped “paw” into the shelter on January 28, 2023. The volunteers and employees found him to be charming and funny.

Wallace told the outlet, “Everyone here thought it was hilarious and rather fitting. Waffle House (Pawl Ruff) has shown he can be quite the goofball, but also extremely charming.”

Has Paul Rudd adopted Pawl Ruff yet?

The Hollywood actor has not yet submitted an adoption application for Waffle House at the time of writing.

Fortunately, the Collierville Animal Shelter has received more than seven adoption applications for Paul Rudd since it posted a listing.

Perhaps we will see the Avenger and Pawl Ruff walking as an iconic due soon. After all, the Town of Collierville Twitter page asks, “what is more heroic than adopting a shelter pet?”
