Cavill added on his Instagram post, “In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men.”
Since “The Witcher” began in Dec. 2019, Cavill has played the monster hunter Geralt. The TV series’ third season, set for release by the summer of 2023, will be Cavill’s last appearance on the Netflix series. Last week, he also assured fans that he would still play the role of Superman if ever the rumored sequel will push through.

Liam Hemsworth’s roles
Moreover, Liam Hemsworth had his share of similar roles. The actor starred in Hunger Games, Independence Day: Resurgence, and The Last Song. In addition, neither the actors nor Netflix specified any reason for the change.
“The Witcher” has been a flagship franchise for Netflix that also serves as a book series adaptation. It also has a videogame franchise with the same title. Changing the actors for the franchise series lead role proves that Netflix is invested in the property. “The Witcher: Blood Origin” will debut on Christmas Day.
Aside from the TV series, Cavill is popular in the entertainment industry. He also played a part in the upcoming “Enola Holmes 2.” He cast along with Millie Bobby Brown, and it will air on Netflix next week.
