The Return of a Classic: McDonald’s Halloween Buckets Are Back
A trick-or-treat season classic is back. The iconic McDonald’s Halloween Buckets return with some surprises for this season. These adorable pails brought back three different characters – orange McPunk’n, green McGoblin Halloween, and white McBoo.
After six years, McDonald’s will release these Halloween treats starting today, Oct. 18. It will be available throughout all McDonald’s across the country until Oct. 31 or until there are supplies. In a press release, the fast food giant said, “We heard you loud and clear… if spooky SZN doesn’t include McDonald’s Halloween Pails, then you don’t want it.”
To avail of the McDonald’s Halloween Buckets, you must order one Happy Meal. Then the staff will deliver your order in the Halloween plastic pail. Not only will these pails bring nostalgia to the adults now, but the kids today will also experience this Halloween special.

These Halloween buckets were first released in 1986 and were available yearly during this season. However, Mcdonald’s stopped selling them in 2016. Moreover, since they are plastics, Mcdonald’s urges customers to share their repurposing plans for the bucket when it’s not Halloween.
McDonald’s Halloween Bucket includes your meal, Halloween stickers, and an activity sheet on the backside. It is made of plastic and has a cover lid. Although it wasn’t as big as the normal jack-o-lantern bucket, it will be handy for kids this season and following Halloween.
McDonald’s Halloween Bucket Promotion
A few weeks ago, before the release of McDonald’s Halloween Buckets, fast food launched Adult Happy Meals. Customers were so excited that Mcdonald’s employees were worried about this new promotion.
One user wrote in a subreddit for McDonald’s employees, “Not too sure if they are going to be one design at a time, but please be nice to employees if they are. The pails right after the Cactus box are not good for morale.”Moreover, McDonald’s representatives assured that the company is ready to handle any Halloween bucket frenzy.
Mcdonald’s told The Takeout, “We have a feeling Halloween Pails will be popular with our fans, and we’ve prepared accordingly in close partnership with our suppliers, distributors, and franchisees,” The fast food chain also confirmed that each store location would receive just one of the three designs per week.
Don’t be surprised if there would only one available design at your nearest McDonald’s. This is the fast food’s tactic to prevent chaos and avoid customer complaints. McDonald’s said, “We always keep restaurant crew top of mind when launching new and returning promotions.”
