Filipina finally wins after playing lottery ‘since she moved to Canada’
Lovella Wuersch of Brampton, Ontario said that she’d been trying to win the lottery ever since she moved to Canada.
“I’ve been a regular lottery player since I arrived in Canada 14 years ago,” Wuersch, who works in the food industry, was quoted in the Daily Hive.
She was playing her C$5 Crossword Tripler one evening when she was shocked that she matched six words, winning the game’s top prize of C$100,000.
Matching all the six words would mean that she had won the game’s top prize of $100,000.
“I was crying tears of joy,” she said, while at the OLG Prize Centre to pick up her check. “My husband didn’t believe it.
Wuersch’s bought her winning Crossword Tripler ticket at Oceans Fresh Food Market on Main Street in Brampton.
Her prize money will go to savings (“I work so hard, and it would take me so long to save this much money”).
But some of it will be spent on a special trip to see her mother in the Philippines.
