Apple announced the exciting new features on the IOS 16 update. With their continuous innovation on their software platforms, users can now edit and unsend messages already sent in the messages app.

During their WWDC 2022 event, Apple software engineering senior VP Craig Federighi announced the new features while explaining the iOS 16 updates. This is shared via The Verge.

With the new iOS 16, users can mark threads unread and unsend them whenever they want to. Then you can revisit them later for any changes you’d like to make. These features cover the top three requested features from iMessage users.

Federighi also added that the “unread” feature will benefit the users who don’t have much “time to respond at the moment and want to be sure to come back to a message later.”

According to Apple’s official press release, they also discussed the new changes to iMessage. Another feature will also allow users to watch shared content in message threads. Apple also explains that users editing or unending messages is available within 15 minutes. Once you have deleted a message, you can recover them for up to 30 days.

In the fine print of the press release, Apple said, “Users can edit or recall recently sent messages, recover recently deleted messages, and mark conversations as unread so they can come back to them later. In addition, SharePlay is coming to Messages. It makes it possible for users to enjoy synced content like movies or songs and shared playback controls while chatting in Messages.”

Other New Apple iOS 16 Features

Another fantastic feature is that you won’t have to deal much with fixing typos anymore. There will be a new Dictation detail that “lets you fluidly move between voice and touch.” Your iPhone’s keyboard will stay open while you use voice dictation, and it can also detect emojis while you’re talking.

In addition, users are now allowed to place a list of SharePlay-ready apps straight into FaceTime. Through this, you can quickly see which ones are available. Moreover, there will also be a button for the feature in Messages. This button will allow you to text back and forth while watching together effortlessly.

If you’re an Apple user and want to try these new updates, Apple will launch a developer preview of the new iOS 16 today. However, they plan to release a public beta of this new update to users by next month.

This new update announcement comes alongside Apple’s significant year of changes. Since they have also recently revealed that they were discontinuing the latest model of their iPod.
