La Salle alum finishes Boston Marathon for the eighth time

A 62-year-old Filipino runner from Sunnyvale, California, finished his eighth Boston Marathon on Monday, April 18.

Noel Colina crossed the finish line at the 3 hours, 43 minutes, 49 seconds – six minutes faster than the Boston Marathon qualifying time.

The Sunnyvale, California resident was a runner at De La Salle University in the Philippines.

Colina was “relaxed and in celebration mode” having already qualified for next year’s 26-mile Boston Marathon, according to the Tracy Press. It was the fourth marathon he ran in the last seven months.

He qualified for next year’s race with a time 16-minutes below the Boston qualifying time at the Modesto Marathon three weeks ago.
