A 42-year-old Filipino crew member on March 26 died on board the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Quantum of the Seas.

The ship’s medical team responded to a Code Alpha on the PA system when the unnamed crew member,  a loft suit attendant, went into cardiac arrest.

The medical team tried for 45 minutes to resuscitate him with CPR and a defibrillator, but the attempts were unsuccessful.

The Quantum of the Seas captain informed the ship’s crew of their shipmate’s death and the deceased next-of-kin have reportedly been informed of his passing. He offered support for the crew through the company’s assistance program.
