Films eligible for Oscars awards 2022
The Oscars Academy Awards announced the 276 eligible films for this year’s awards. While the nomination was set to begin on January 27, it will be up until Tuesday, Feb. 1. These feature films are eligible for consideration for the 94th Oscars. The awards are set to telecast live on March 27 at ABC and live from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
Although last year’s pandemic has prolonged the eligibility year until Feb.28, 20221, it garnered 366 eligible films. Which is the largest film submission by far since 1970. While this year’s Oscars only have 10 months, the eligibility list for 2022 is almost equal to last year.
This year’s number is 90 fewer than last year’s due to the short eligibility period. It only lasted from March 1 until December 31, 2021.

For the Best Picture Oscar nomination, films should submit a discreet Academy Representation and Inclusion Standards entry as part of the submission requirements. However, the Academy cited that completing the requirements won’t be needed until the Oscars in 2024.
The Oscar nominations will be revealed on Tuesday, February 8. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed their shortlists in the Documentary Feature, Original Score, Original Song, International Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Sound and the Live-Action, Visual Effects, Documentary and Animated Shorts categories.
