Virtual premiere of ‘Rizal’s Pen’ from Dec. 30 to Jan. 1
Every 30th of December, the Filipino nation observes the death anniversary of the Philippines’ national hero Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal on what is formally known as Rizal Day.
This year, the Sentro Rizal in Washington D.C. commemorates the life, sacrifice, and works of Dr. Rizal with a video premiere.
With a special virtual screening of Nicolas Pichay’s “Rizal’s Pen” the Philippine Embassy celebrates this year’s Rizal Day with the theme “Rizal: Para sa Agham, Katotohanan, at Buhay” (Rizal: For Science, Truth, and Life).
The screening will start from 30 December 2021 until 01 January 2022 via the Philippine Embassy’s Facebook Page (@PHinUSA).
“Rizal’s Pen” is a 45-minute film directed and written by Nicolas B. Pichay, which revolves around a young man in contemporary times discovering the relevance of Jose Rizal’s writings.
