McDonald’s McRib is back! Here’s when it’s coming
Watch out McRib lovers, the comeback is real. Just in time for McRibs’ 40th anniversary, it will graze McDonald’s menu again starting November 1. Though they also said it will only be available for a limited period.
On Thursday, Mcdonald’s revealed the return of the iconic barbecue sandwich. McRib gain popularity for its savory barbecue sauce, seasoned boneless pork, pickles, and onions on a bun.
Although this BBQ favorite is a Kansas City original in 1981, it gained popularity throughout the other states.

Even though it hasn’t been a regular on the menu, McRib has made an ample amount of following from fanatics over the years. The last time the sandwich was on the menu was on December 2, 2020, Though it’s also just for a limited time.
Before McRib’s return in 2020, the fast-food giant gave away 10,000 free sandwiches to fans. It came with its “Shave 4 McRib Sweepstakes.”
McDonald’s senior archives manager Mike Burlington recalls that McDonald’s came up with the idea of the sandwich to be “enjoyed during colder seasons.”

Bullington said, “Whether you’re a McRib loyalist or first-timer, there is no denying that the McRib is one of the most iconic sandwiches of the last four decades. We have thousands of emails and tweets from fans to prove it.”
McDonald’s claimed that the “internet boom and emergence of social media solidified the McRib’s icon status” and “hype around its annual return even gave birth to the phrase” McRib season.”
The tactic is effective as limited time and seasonal menu offerings help restaurants gather new and old customers.

BTIG Restaurants Analyst Peter Sales said, “McDonald’s has been doing it for a while. It’s really worked well. So you’re seeing others pile in.”
