Autism Hearts benefit fashion show coming to San Francisco

/ 02:41 AM October 13, 2017

SAN FRANCISCO – A unique benefit fashion show is coming to this city to generate support for children with autism.

The Autism Hearts Foundation and the Philippine Consulate General of San Francisco will host “FAAB San Francisco Fashion for Hope,” at the San Francisco Consulate General Kalayaan Hall, October 20, at 6:00 p.m.

Children identified with autism face serious challenges in learning and developing skills. Their ability to function as self-sufficient adults is seriously jeopardized if no opportunities are given to them to flourish, to function independently.

For many individuals on the spectrum who have difficulties connecting, art can be a valid part of therapy.

FAAB Project provides opportunities to develop language, cognition, fine and gross motor skills, social and life skills, self-esteem and self-expression, and the opportunity to define potential career paths.

FAAB artists have already awed the international community through their artwork last April 3 – 7, when their creations were exhibited at the United Nations in New York during the United Nations World Autism Awareness Celebration.
