HONOLULU – A Filipino man was arrested in a near-fatal stabbing at a townhome in Waikele on Tuesday, April 6.

Edsel Julaton, 42, was arrested without incident and faces a second-degree attempted murder charge for allegedly stabbing his wife after an argument.

Court documents say the couple’s young daughter witnessed the stabbing of her mother, Eunice Julaton, 42, who suffered wounds in the neck and torso. Eunice was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The daughter was at home crying when police arrived.

Documents also say when police entered the townhome on Lumiauau Street, they found Julaton “sitting on the couch in the living room with what appeared to be blood on his face and T-shirt.”

Julaton’s bail was set at $250,000. He pleaded not guilty to the crime. He’s due back in court Tuesday, April 13.
