SAN DIEGO — Eleanor Castillo Tabuena, 58, was tragically killed by a suspected DUI driver on SR 75 in Coronado in the early morning of August 20.

The victim and her family were in a 2008 Honda Pilot, driven by her husband, Paul Tabuena, who was also seriously injured along with five other extended family members who traveled from Vancouver, BC to attend a relative’s wedding two days before the car crash.

For yet to be determined reasons, the driver of a 2008 Jeep traveling northbound crossed the median into the southbound lanes and struck the Tabuenas’ Honda Pilot. A Kia Soul, traveling southbound was also involved in the collision, striking the Honda Pilot. Eleanor Tabuena was pronounced dead at the scene.
