PH Ballet Theatre’s one-day-only performance in SF, June 23
SAN FRANCISCO — In celebration of the 121st anniversary of the Philippine Independence the San Francisco Manila Sister Committee and KalayaanSF, in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General of San Francisco, will present the Philippine Ballet Theatre on its one-day-only, San Francisco debut at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, June 23, at the McKenna Theater, 1600 Holloway Avenue, San Francisco.
Heroes and legends of the 1898 Philippine revolution against Spain will come alive on stage, performed by 20 award-winning dancers of the highly acclaimed Philippine Ballet Theatre, a resident company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
The company will present an innovative repertoire consisting of a suite on the beleaguered revolutionary hero “Andres Bonifacio” and a set based on “Serye at Sayaw,” a ballet representation of regional dances at this one-day-only event.
