Filipina stabbed to death by cousin in Pittsburg, California
PITTSBURG, California — A 28-year-old Filipina was stabbed to death by her cousin in Pittsburg on Monday afternoon, April 1.
Officers arriving at a home on Beechwood Court found Kirstiene Catapusan suffering from stab wounds to her upper body.
She was taken to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where she later died from her wounds.
Officers learned that Catapusan and her cousin, Henry Brodie III, 29, had a heated argument at the home.
Brodie allegedly got angry with her and stabbed her multiple times with a large knife. Other family members were able to subdue Brodie while 911 was called, according to a KRON report.
Police arrested Brodie took him into custody. He admitted to investigators that he stabbed Catapusan several times during the argument. He has been booked at the Martinez Detention Facility. He faces murder charges and remains in jail on $2 million bail.
