CHICAGO — The documentary film Motherland by Ramona Diaz is the Philippines’ official entry to the 22nd Annual Chicago American Showcase.

The Filipino film is one of the eight (8) hosted by the Foundation for Asian American Independent Media (FAAIM) to celebrate emerging Asian American creative talent and support artists in building a grassroots audience for their work.

Motherland is a story of three women Lea, Aira and Lerma, who emerge to share their stories with other mothers, their families, doctors and social workers in the heart of the planet’s busiest maternity hospital in the Philippines. This film was chosen for the showcase by the FAAIM as the Philippine entry.
