Caregiver in So. California arrested for theft, credit card fraud
SAN FRANCISCO – Caregiver Ma “Rose” Licuanan, 49, of Torrance, California was arrested Thursday, March 23 for allegedly stealing from her clients.
Licuanan was charged with four unspecified felony counts and two misdemeanor counts
by the L.A. County District Attorney’s office, according to a statement from the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department.
She used a number of aliases including Rose Licuanan, Maria Licuanan, Marosario Mendoza Licuanan and Rosario Licuanan, according to police.
Licuanan allegedly stole one credit card and made photocopies of others to use online, officers said.
On the strength of a warrant, police searched Licuanan’s residence and car leading to the discovery of stolen property and credit cards belonging to additional victims. She is being held without bail.
Five victims said Licuanan had worked for them as a caregiver and experienced fraudulent activity on their accounts or believed Licuanan stole cash from them, detectives said.
